Fonix Hotel - Balatonfoldvar

Just returned from a city break with my family and had an amazing stay! the hotel we've chosen was ideally located for our vacation - close to the lake and with easy access to public transport to get around the town. the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet every morning and the pool was a highlight for our kids. We also rented bikes and explored the area, which was such a blast!

Very close to Balaton lake; friendly and helpfull personnel with good knowledge of English. Tasty breakfast. Conditioning in rooms. Possibility to play tennis. Pool in the yard. Very nice hotel for short and also for longer stay!

That's have been a surprise. Really good location, 5 min by walk to the Balaton lake. Hotel has been an own pool, a tennis court, big parking, nice garden with a restaurant. Dinner has been good (out side grill and restaurant didn't work this time, depends of a heavy thunderstorm). Stuff has been friendly, helpful and supportive (great). I will come back for a vacation, that's for sure. The town has been several bars and restaurants. The beach at the lake is great a special for family with kids. To come to really deep water you have to go 500m into the water. So, save for kids. Even for business stay is perfect and relaxing, wireless lan free of charge and quick.

Very warm attitude of staff and great willingness to find solutions. When one of our rooms had an airconditioning problem in the bathroom section, our complete family of four was invited to move to an even better apartment up in the hotel. The hotel is excellently located near the shores of lake Balaton. We greatly liked the breakfast buffet and the quality of the evening-meals served by most friendly personnel. Very practical also is the car-parking inside the fence on the hotel grounds. To recommend!

This hotel is conveniently located close to the stunning Balaton lake and city center, making it easy to explore the attractions and sights nearby. You can rent bikes or electric ones at a reasonable price for more leisurely sightseeing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to help. the restaurant offers delicious cuisine at reasonable prices.

One aspect of this hotel lets it down. Some guests have reported cleanliness issues and lacking in basic facilities such as no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom, making it difficult for a comfortable stay.

Building of classic style, nicely refurbished with a garden, where you can have breakfast under the trees. Free internet access in the lobby - computers (they are slow) provided. Swimming pool and sunbeds in the courtyard. The beach is near, a few minutes walk. Balatonfoldvar is a cute town, ideal for families or for those who like a quiet holiday. Friendly staff, good breakfast. A fridge in the room.

Rooms are quiet, but you can hear the noises too well from the corridor - sometimes hard to sleep when someone slashes the door / chatting outside. Less parking space than the number of rooms (but free spaces outside the hotel). No wifi in the rooms. Not all rooms have an air-con., but I think the rooms facing south have one.

We loved the hotel's location - it was close to the lake, restaurants and shopping facilities. The staff were very friendly and the hotel facilities were great. the breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious.

The hotel is very nice, with excellent staff. The rooms are clean. Short distance to the Balaton lake. Different activities at the hotel. We enjoyed it very much as a couple, family with young children and family with teenagers.

Great staff, very friendly knowledgeable about the area and willing to share in multiple languages including English. Breakfast included was quite good as well.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to get around and explore the area. The pool was clean and refreshing, perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot afternoon. Another positive aspect of this hotel was the friendly and helpful staff, who were always available to answer questions and provide recommendations for local attractions.

The hotel's rooms could benefit from some updates and maintenance. Our room was quite warm and stuffy, as there was no air conditioning or proper ventilation. In addition, the noise level from guests coming and going in the hallway could be bothersome, especially in the early morning hours. while the hotel had its drawbacks, it was a decent choice for a weekend stay in the area.
